Inspiring children and young people across Stirling to get active, try new sports, and enjoy fun, positive experiences throughout the school year.
About Our Events
Active Schools works with [number] primary schools and [number] secondary schools across Stirling, as well as to pupils with additional support needs to deliver a packed calendar of sport and physical activity events throughout each academic year.
These events provide opportunities for school-aged children to take part in competitive and non-competitive festivals to support extra-curricular participation and improve children’s health and wellbeing. These are organised on both and individual cluster-level, with local learning community schools, as well as Stirling-wide events open to all schools in the Stirling Council area.
Our aim is simple:
to provide positive, meaningful opportunities for all pupils to take part, have fun, and feel the benefits of being active - and connect with sport in a way that feels enjoyable and accessible.

Inclusive Events
We believe sport should be open to everyone. That’s why we work closely with our SportAbility team, Forth Valley Disability Sport and Scottish Disability Sport.
Together, we deliver adapted and inclusive opportunities—such as Boccia Pathway, Inclusive Track & Field, and Multi‑sport festivals—designed to support pupils with a wide range of additional support needs.
Events Across Stirling Schools
Our events programme includes events for children and young people from P1 to S6, with opportunities for every level of interest and ability.
Whether it’s a festival, a friendly school meet‑up, or a Stirling‑wide championship, our events help pupils stay active, connected, and engaged.

Clubs Pathway
Our events are designed to support wider participation in sport—not just during the school day, but long after the bell rings. Every festival, taster and competition helps pupils discover activities they can continue at:
- after‑school clubs
- lunchtime activity sessions
- community sports clubs
