Over 50 pupils from across Stirling’s seven high schools have teed off in the first two fixtures of the Stirling Schools Golf Championship 2025/2026 – and the competition is heating up!

Organised by Active Stirling’s Active Schools team, the championship is designed to give young people the opportunity to compete, develop their skills, and represent their schools in a supportive and inspiring environment.

The first fixture took place at Balfron Golf Society on Wednesday 17 September, where pupils battled through tough weather conditions to complete their rounds. Despite the rain, spirits were high, and performances were strong. Thomas Kelly (Stirling High School) currently leads the scratch competition, while Fraser Shaw (Bannockburn High School) tops the handicap leaderboard.

The second fixture, held at Callander Golf Club on Thursday 9 October, saw much improved conditions and some impressive scores. Thomas Kelly and Reuben Brown (Balfron High School) both shot a superb scratch score of 66, tying for the top spot on the day.

With two fixtures now complete, attention turns to the third and final event at New Dunblane Golf Club on Monday 30 March 2026, where the overall champions will be crowned.

It’s great to see the Stirling Schools Golf events continue to grow in numbers,” “We’ve had to adapt the format this year to accommodate the increasing interest. The standard of golf is improving every year, with some of our young players now competing internationally – it’s fantastic to see!
