We’re delighted to announce that Active Stirling has been named a finalist for the Scottish Swimming Learn to Swim Provider of the Year Award – for the second year in a row!

The recognition celebrates the quality of our Learn to Swim programme, delivered by our fantastic swimming team at The PEAK and across our community venues. Being shortlisted in consecutive years is an achievement we’re incredibly proud of and reflects the consistently high standards our team works hard to deliver every day.

Our swimming teachers are at the heart of the programme, creating fun, positive and supportive lessons where children can develop their skills, confidence and love of swimming. But delivering an outstanding Learn to Swim programme takes a whole team.

Behind every lesson is a huge amount of work – from planning programmes and managing bookings to communicating with families, monitoring progress and developing resources that help parents and carers support their children throughout their swimming journey.

Together, it creates an experience designed to help every child progress, enjoy their lessons and develop an essential life skill.

To be recognised as a finalist for Learn to Swim Provider of the Year for the second consecutive year is a fantastic achievement and something our whole team should be incredibly proud of. Our swimming teachers do an outstanding job every day on poolside, creating high-quality lessons where children can learn, develop their confidence and, importantly, enjoy being in the water. There is also an enormous amount of work that happens behind the scenes to make sure we provide the best possible experience for children and their families. From programme planning and bookings to communication, resources and customer support, it is a real team effort. To have that commitment and consistency recognised by Scottish Swimming two years running is a tremendous endorsement of the standards our team continues to deliver.

Matt Bunnell, Chief Executive of Active Stirling

The Learn to Swim programme, developed by Scottish Swimming, supports children to become confident, safer and more competent swimmers through a progressive pathway of lessons.

We’re delighted to be shortlisted alongside University of Stirling Sport and West Dunbartonshire Leisure, and we look forward to celebrating the fantastic work taking place across Scotland to help more children develop this vital life skill – as well as sharing and learning from each other.

The winner will be announced on Saturday 19 September, and after being finalists last year, we’ll certainly be keeping everything crossed!

Whatever happens on the night, being recognised among Scotland’s leading Learn to Swim providers for the second-year running is already an achievement worth celebrating.

A huge congratulations – and thank you – to every member of Team Active Stirling who makes our Learn to Swim programme the success that it is.
