Recovery communities, support services, friends and families from across Scotland came together at Forthbank Stadium on Friday 24 July to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Forth Valley Recovery Olympics.

Organised in partnership with the Forth Valley Recovery Community (FVRC), the event marked a decade of promoting recovery, resilience and wellbeing through physical activity, friendship and community support.

This year's event welcomed 150 participants and 188 spectators, representing 18 recovery communities and support organisations from across Scotland. Throughout the day, participants took part in a range of activities including sprint races, sack races, soft archery, turbo javelin, Hungry Hippos and the ever-popular Tug-o-War.

The 10th Anniversary Recovery Olympics was a fantastic celebration of everything this event stands for. Seeing so many people come together to support one another, share their stories and enjoy being active was incredibly inspiring. This year's event was particularly special for me, as it was not only a celebration of ten years of promoting recovery through sport, but also my final Recovery Olympics before leaving Active Stirling to begin a new role with West Lothian Council. The sense of community throughout the day was remarkable, and it was wonderful to see so many recovery communities, partners, volunteers and supporters come together to celebrate a decade of recovery, wellbeing and inclusion. I'd like to thank everyone who attended, volunteered and helped make this year's event such a tremendous success.
