Active Stirling is supporting the launch of the City of Stirling Community Sport Hub Festival of Sport, a free open day designed to bring local clubs, organisations and communities together through sport and physical activity.

Taking place on Sunday 26 April, 10.00am–3.00pm at Stirling County Rugby Club, the Festival of Sport will give people of all ages and abilities the chance to try a variety of sports in a friendly and inclusive setting.

Community Sport Hubs are a sportscotland initiative that focus on connecting community sports clubs and community organisations to create more opportunities for people to get active. The City of Stirling Community Sport Hub was established just over a year ago and this event celebrates the progress made so far, while promoting the clubs and organisations involved.

On the day, there will be a range of drop‑in taster sessions, including:

  • Rugby (Stirling County RFC - U14’s)
  • Gaelic football (Stirling Carrigan GAA - 4-9 yrs, 11.00am-12.00pm / 10-14 yrs 1.00pm-2.00pm)
  • Walking football (Stirling Albion Foundation -open to all ages)
  • Jogging (Stirling Striders – Jog Scotland – Over 18s)
  • Athletics (Central Athletics – Mini Heptathlon - U18s)
  • Cycling (Recyke-a-Bike – Cycle Pump Track – Open to all)
  • Pétanque boules (Stirling Wolves Petanque Club - open to all, U18s must be accompanied by an adult)

Whether you’re looking to try something new or simply enjoy being active, there will be something for everyone.

We are excited to host the first City of Stirling Community Sport Hub Festival of Sport. The clubs and organisations involved have worked hard to make this event a success and we hope it encourages more people to get involved with local sport, while enjoying a great day out with family and friends.
