Join us this summer for an exciting one day outdoor rock climbing adventure at Benny Beg, near Crieff – a fantastic natural setting ideal for beginners and those looking to build confidence on real rock. (In the event of very wet weather, we may move to the indoor climbing centre at Ratho.)
During the session, young climbers will learn essential skills such as how to correctly wear and use a helmet and harness, how to assess risk, and how to belay safely. They'll also experience climbing on real rock, may even get the chance to try abseiling, and learn to manage being at height. They'll explore the importance of clear communication, trusting others, and being part of a team to help keep everyone safe while having a brilliant time outdoors.
Cost includes all equipment and bus transport to and from The PEAK. Please see below for kit list for land based activity to know what they should bring.

Our three-day Water Safety Course offers a practical and engaging introduction to understanding the risks and challenges of cold water environments. Designed for young people, this course builds confidence and knowledge through activities such as kayaking on Loch Venachar (Day 1), gorge walking in Kirkton Glen (Day 2), and river swimming on the River Leny (Day 3).
Participants will explore key safety skills such as how to move safely in and around moving water, both individually and in a group, and how to identify and assess hazards. They’ll take part in discussions each day around the planned activity, equipment needed, and potential risks. There will be detailed talks about safety equipment, the effects of cold water on the body, and how to perform shout, reach, and throw rescues – with an introduction to go rescues. Skills such as throw bag use, defensive and aggressive swimming, dynamic risk assessing a jump, and understanding the rescue hierarchy (me first, equipment last) will all be covered. A hands-on, active way to learn vital life skills in real outdoor settings.
