Over 100 S3 pupils from McLaren, Bannockburn, Stirling, Dunblane, Wallace High and Chartershall Schools took part in a full day of learning, leadership and sport at our annual S3 Leadership Day at Stirling Sports Village.
Organised by Active Stirling’s Active Schools team, this inspiring event is designed to support young people in developing leadership skills through sport and physical activity — helping them build confidence, learn new skills and create more inclusive sporting environments.
Throughout the day, pupils engaged in a variety of interactive workshops including:
- Neurodiversity and Trauma Awareness
- Fundamentals and Coaching Skills
- Rules and Responsibilities
- Disability Awareness Training

In the afternoon, students took part in sport-specific CPD sessions in Football, Athletics, Dance, Netball, and Handball — applying what they’d learned in fun, active sessions led by our expert coaches.
This event gives the pupils skills to deliver sports during lunchtime or after school clubs within their schools.
Let's see what they got up to!
It was great to see so many young people show a keen interest in sports coaching. In an industry where we rely so much on volunteers, it's so important that we encourage leadership from a young age. Hopefully this day has given the young people a good start into sports coaching.

We’re proud to support the next generation of sports leaders in Stirling. A huge well done to everyone who took part — your energy, teamwork and leadership were inspiring!
