Over 60 pupils took part in an exciting day of Boccia at Raploch Campus as part of Active Stirling’s SportAbility programme.

Active Stirling recently hosted a fantastic SportAbility Boccia event at Raploch Community Campus, welcoming more than 60 pupils from primary and secondary schools across Stirling for a day of fun, competition, and inclusion.

Celebrating Boccia and Inclusion

The event gave pupils with physical, sensory, and learning disabilities—including autism and neurodiverse needs—the chance to showcase the Boccia skills they’ve been practicing throughout the year. Boccia, a Paralympic sport played from a seated position, requires strategy and precision as players aim to place their red or blue balls closest to the white “Jack” ball.

The day was filled with thrilling matches, teamwork, and plenty of smiles. The competitive element added extra excitement, and we’re proud to announce the top finishers who have qualified for the Forth Valley Disability Sport Championships in January 2026.

Why Inclusive Sport Matters

Inclusive sport is about breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for everyone to participate. It helps build confidence, improve physical and mental wellbeing, and foster friendships. Events like this show that sport truly is for everyone, regardless of ability.

It was wonderful to see the pupils showcase the Boccia skills they've developed over the past few months, with some truly outstanding play—several matches even came down to a tiebreaker! Congratulations to everyone who played and to those moving on to the Forth Valley Championships. Huge thanks to our Active Stirling staff, McLaren High Sport Leaders, and our incredible Boccia volunteers who helped make this event possible.
