On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December, young skaters from Active Stirling’s Skate UK programme put on a spectacular skating performance at their annual Christmas Gala.
The event held at The PEAK ice rink at Stirling Sports Village, saw skaters (age 5 - 16) from beginners level up to NISA level 1 standard, perform their skills and routines that they have been practising for the last few weeks in front of a large supportive crowd.
In between the performances, the skaters were also treated to performances by members of the Stirling New Figure Skating Club and Starlight Synchro Club. Many of those skaters began their journey in Active Stirling's Skate UK programme.
The showcase was a fantastic opportunity for our Learn to Skate skaters to show off their skills they have learned over the last couple of months. There was a mix of guest skaters from different clubs, many of whom started their skating journey right here in our Learn to Skate programme at The PEAK and who now compete around the country. There was a real buzz of skaters and spectators inside the ice rink, and I hope that this event will have inspired our latest generation of skaters.
