Active Stirling’s Active Schools team held a Scottish Country Dancing Festival at The PEAK in Stirling, with pupils from Primary Schools across Stirling on Wednesday 30 November 2022.

Over 200 primary school pupils have been taking part in circular, lunch or after school clubs to learn the traditional Scottish Country Dances in preparation for the event. School staff at each school played a vital role in supporting and leading these sessions.

On the day Janet Johnstone and her team of dancers from Scottish Country Dancing led the children brilliantly through all the dances, with live music provided by the Alan Ross Country Dance Band.

Today we have seen over two hundred pupils from Stirling Primary Schools take part in our Scottish Country Dancing Festival. Each group has done an amazing job and we are so happy to be back enjoying dancing! Thank you to Janet from Scottish Country Dancing and her dancers, and Alan and his band, and all the school staff that supported this event and did an excellent job with their groups. Well done everyone!
