Over 190 Primary 4 pupils from across Stirling took part in a fantastic day of tennis at The PEAK on Wednesday 30 April, organised by Active Stirling’s Active Schools team.
The energy was high, and the racquets were swinging as pupils from Cambusbarron, Fallin, Gargunnock, Raploch, Riverside and St. Ninians Primary Schools enjoyed an action-packed Tennis Festival designed to help them learn new skills, have fun and stay active.
This event is a shining example of Active Stirling’s mission to inspire young people to get involved in sport and physical activity, and to create positive sporting experiences that last a lifetime.

In preparation for the festival, Balfron High School’s young sports leaders received expert training from Sean Tullock of Killearn Tennis Club, who led a CPD session to equip them with the skills and confidence to deliver tennis activities on the day. These young leaders played a key role in running the event and keeping the festival running smoothly.
Thanks to Sean for giving up his time to support our young leaders and help them prepare. It was brilliant to see so many pupils having fun and picking up new skills on the court. A big shout out to our Balfron High leaders too—they were fantastic role models and delivered the event with enthusiasm and professionalism.

The Primary Tennis Festival is just one of the many events delivered through the Active Schools programme, which aims to give all children and young people in Stirling the chance to participate in sport and physical activity, regardless of their background or ability.
