Our Dementia Friendly Health Walk in Stirling returns on Thursday 26 March.
Taking place every Thursday from 11.00am–12.00pm at King’s Park, Stirling, the walk is delivered by our trained Dementia Friendly Walk Leaders and Active Stirling staff.
This gentle and welcoming walk is open to anyone who would benefit from light activity, fresh air and friendly social connection — especially adults living with dementia, their families and carers. Residents from local care homes and nursing homes are also encouraged to join, supported by staff.
Starting from the tennis courts in King’s Park, the route follows mainly flat, scenic paths with beautiful views of Stirling Castle and Stirling Golf Club.
Toilet facilities are available nearby, and after the walk, participants are warmly invited to the King’s Park Pavilion Café to relax and enjoy a chat over a cuppa.
We know how important it is for people living with dementia and their families to have friendly, accessible opportunities to stay active. Our Dementia Friendly Walk offers exactly that — a gentle, supportive environment where everyone is welcome. It’s wonderful to see the difference a simple weekly walk can make, bringing confidence, connection and plenty of smiles. We’re excited to welcome everyone back and continue building this supportive community together.
We also offer a wide range of free walks across Stirling throughout the week, including:
- Health Walks from Monday to Friday
- Community Walks on Saturdays at a gentle pace
- Walk Forward fortnightly sessions on Tuesdays for more active walkers
- Nordic Walking every Wednesday in rural Stirlingshire
All our walks are free and require no booking — simply come along, enjoy a stroll, and connect with others in a supportive and welcoming environment.
