Budding dancers and choreographers from Stirling Council High Schools have been competing in a virtual dance competition, run by Active Stirling’s Active Schools team.
High school pupils from S1-S6 were invited to enter the competition by creating their own creative choreography and submitting videos of their dance pieces for the virtual dance comp.
Eva Forrester, Dance Tutor and Choreographer for the Tron Theatre Glasgow, was delighted to judge the entries and selected winners from Stirling, Wallace, Bannockburn, St Modans and Balfron High Schools. Eva considered technique, performance, and choreography as part of the judging criteria and was extremely impressed by the dedication, creativeness, and talent that dancers have shown.
The winners were all invited to attend the Virtual Dance Competition Winners Workshop at The PEAK in Stirling, on Thursday 26 May 2022, with Industry Professional Pamela Destifano whose dance career has included appearances in music videos and tours for Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Usher, Janet Jackson and many more.
The pupils fully embraced this amazing opportunity and enjoyed the workshop with Pamela which included a Q&A where pupils were able to ask about her wealth of experience and talent, which was inspiring for them. The workshop was rounded off by Active Stirling presenting the winners trophies to the dancers.
