Active Stirling continue to invest in the education and development of young people and have recently welcomed a new intake of four Modern Apprentices (MA’s), who will now gain work experience and training in schools and across the Stirling community in 2023-2024.

These young adults have all recently left Stirling Secondary Schools and will support Active Stirling in achieving their vision of ‘improving people’s lives through getting more people, more active more often’. One of the main job remits of the MA’s is to inspire and motivate children and young people to participate in sport and physical activity in the hope that they will continue with an active lifestyle in the future.

They will be working within primary and secondary schools across Stirling and supporting sports events in the local community. As well as delivering sport and physical activity each MA will work towards their SVQ level 3 in sports and leisure management delivered by Sports Academy Scotland. The programme gives all the young people a fantastic vocational learning opportunity that will provide them with good foundations for future careers.

Active Stirling is committed to giving young people opportunities and the Modern Apprentice programme is a great vehicle to do this. These young adults bring enthusiasm and energy into our organisation, and they are motivated and want to learn. We would like to wish them the best of luck for the year ahead.
