The Active Schools team at Active Stirling have been working hard to increase participation in schools and provide as many opportunities as possible for young people to be engaged and enthused in school and community sport and Physical Activity.

Our Active Schools Manager Angela, shares some highlights from the last year...

Partnership working is crucial to the success of the programmes in Stirling, the team is enormously thankful to a fantastic group of volunteers, including the amazing school staff and coaches who show passion and commitment on a weekly basis. This workforce supports and enables Active Stirling’s Active Schools team to provide a huge amount of free extra-curricular activities within local schools.

The Active Schools team in Stirling is made up of a team of seven dedicated Active Schools Co-ordinators servicing the 46 schools in the authority area. There are six main school clusters, with feeder schools attributed to St. Modan’s High School being linked across the area. Active Schools Co-ordinators work to a specific school action plan derived from an overarching action plan with discussions on content from Active Stirling, Stirling Council, sportscotland and school staff.

On behalf of the Active Schools team I would like to thank everyone who has supported and delivered local activities and look forward to continually working in partnerships to achieve progress in the future as we strive to get more children, more active, more often.
