This year, we’re proud to mark 20 wonderful years of Active Schools—two decades of inspiring stories, lasting friendships, and incredible achievements across Stirling’s school communities.
From the very beginning, our Active Schools Team have gone the extra mile—fuelled by passion, dedication, and a deep belief in the power of sport and physical activity. Their tireless efforts, along with the incredible support from our partners and volunteers including teachers, school staff, sport leaders, young ambassadors and families, have created opportunities for children and young people to get active, feel connected and build confidence.
Delivered in partnership with sportscotland and Stirling Council, the Active Schools programme has been a long-term commitment to the health and wellbeing of our children and young people—opening doors to sport from an early age, and helping to build a love for movement that lasts a lifetime.
We believe that every child should have the chance to get involved in sport and physical activity—whether before school, at lunchtime or after the bell rings. Our goal is simple: to make sport fun, accessible and part of daily life, while creating clear pathways into local clubs and community groups.
We are incredibly lucky in Stirling to have an incredible group of coordinators whose passion, enthusiasm and dedication ensures a brilliant service for our children and young people. We all love been an active part of our learning communities and value the relationships we have developed and sustained for 20 years. Thanks to the amazing support of our schools, volunteers, and communities, together we’ve been able to make a real difference in children’s lives through sport and activity. We are excited for the next 20 years!
We’re so thankful to everyone who’s helped make these 20 years so special. Whether you’ve coached, cheered, volunteered, supported transport or simply supported from the sidelines—you’ve played a part in something truly meaningful.
Let's watch our journey so far in celebrating Active Schools!
