Stirling Highland Games to Host Novice Heavyweights Training Session at Forthbank Stadium.
Active Stirling is delighted to support partners at Stirling Highland Games as they host their very first Novice Heavyweights Training Session at Forthbank Stadium on Monday 23 June, from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.
The training session is open to anyone aged 16 and over, with the aim of encouraging new participants to try out traditional Highland Games heavy events and potentially take their first step toward competing at the Stirling Highland Games in August.
This beginner-friendly session will be led by two of Scotland’s leading heavyweight athletes, Kyle Randalls and Stuart Anderson, who will coach participants through a variety of disciplines including shot put, hammer throw, weight for distance, and caber toss, using lighter weights suitable for novices.
The evening will begin with an introduction to clean sport and nutrition in the stadium before moving outdoors for the coached session.
I’m delighted that Stirling Highland Games are able to offer a novice training session for heavyweights. I’m sure many people will have watched Highland Games and wondered if they could do the different activities. Well, here’s the chance to give it a shot! Places are limited, so make sure to book early.
