Graeme has a particular interest in accessibility of sport for people with disabilities.

He has a Degree in Biochemistry and a post graduate marketing diploma.

Graeme is retired but spent his working life initially with NHS Forth Valley then in the pharmaceutical sector in various senior manager, accounts roles and latterly in health economics, working with senior NHS management across many NHS health boards to support elements of their strategic plans. He has a broad understanding of NHS boards, health and social care partnerships and how exercise and wellbeing can have a positive impact on populations.

Result-driven, dedicated and seasoned professional possessing 20+ years of demonstrated experience of working with established businesses, start-ups, and sporting clubs by utilising business intellect, strategic insight, and sharp planning skills to transform complex business challenges into focused growth solutions that promote energised levels of competitiveness, performance and profitability.

Possessing a blend of business acumen, consulting expertise, and innovative thinking, Martin has built top-performing sporting clubs that create value and insights for its members and the wider community. He has a track record of developing healthy relationships with club’s representative, members and other stakeholders to discuss the business plans, needs related to the various aspects of sustainability, and providing the necessary resources/means to access Scottish Rugby’s specialist advisers along with introductions to external agencies.

With 13 years of intense entrepreneurial experience, Martin is capable of identifying the strengths and weaknesses of a business, set goals accordingly, develop growth plans and establish working partnerships. Highly adept at various functions within a business, i.e. finance, project management, human resource and regulatory/compliance management.

With 20+ years working in banking, Gillian appreciates the effects of Culture, Health and Wellbeing. Living locally, she was drawn to this position as a way to utilise the skills and board experience she has developed and applies them to the community she lives in.

Dave has worked in the IT industry for 35 years. Currently in a senior sales and marketing position in a Scottish telecommunications company. Previously worked in engineering and software support and has experience in working for a number of Global IT companies in executive positions.

Outside of work, Dave is a native of Glasgow and has lived in Killearn for 28 years. Married with 2 Children and 4 grandchildren, enjoys cycling and golf and was Captain of Balfron Golf club from 2018–2020.

Brian Hambly—Trustee

Having worked in several managerial roles, Brian was recruited by University College Salford, University of Salford, assisting in the establishment of the School of Quality Management.

He held a few positions and undertook several roles including:

Programme Director, Year Tutor, International Recruitment, Industrial Placement liaison, along with lecturing on several undergraduate and post graduate programmes. Taking early retirement and becoming the at home dad, he has now lived in the Stirling area for over 20 years with his wife, a Secondary School Teacher, raised six children and was the registered carer for their eldest daughter.

During his time in Stirling, Brian has chaired the establishment of a very successful Social Enterprise, steered a National Charity through a period of transition and sat for several year on my local Community Council.

As a great believer in providing opportunities for young people, Brian currently volunteers at local, regional, and national levels, in the provision and support of several sporting and outdoor activities.

He is the Junior Convenor for Stirling County Cricket Club and Cricket Coach and is a qualified Royal Yachting Association Dinghy Sailing Instructor, and a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and a Motorcycle Observer.

Lynn Ratcliff—Trustee

Lynn has significant strategic leadership, community planning and compliance experience from her career in the police to bring to her role on the Active Stirling board. She has a variety of interest outside of work and a lifetime love of sport and fitness.

Martha has a wide array of experience to support her role as trustee in the diagnostic health care sector and voluntary experience of community sport and physical activity development.

CouncIillor Margaret Brisley —Trustee

Margaret has lived all her life in the Bannockburn area and has represented the people of Bannockburn since 1980, and also the Eastern villages since 2007. During this time she has held positions of responsibility within Stirling District Council and, since 1996, Stirling Council. Her main interests have been in housing, social services and equality issues. When she retired from teaching she became involved in Children’s Services. She is convener of Children & Young People Committee, Vice Convener of Community Wellbeing & Housing Committee and sits on other boards and panels.

Councillor Robin Kleinman —Trustee

Over a lifetime of employment Robin has had three main careers. Firstly a career in Royal Mail management followed by a career in operational and strategic HR management and finally an academic career researching and teaching HR and business management for various academic institutions. Robin is a Chartered Fellow (FCIPD) of the CIPD with Post Graduate Degree qualifications in HR Management, Employment Law (LLM), Teaching Further Education (TQFE) and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).Robin has lived and worked in various parts of the UK and abroad and alongside his wife has been settled in Bridge of Allan for the last ten years.

Dave Calder OBE —Trustee

Dave possesses a huge range of strategic and board level decision making from his roles within the Army which he brings to the role of trustee. He is a huge advocate of sport and recreation as a key driver for the delivery of mental and physical resilience as well as forging community links. He provides leadership mentoring to senior leaders in the civil service, Army and Police.
