Developments

Forthside development –A major city is underway.  A 40 acre brownfield site has been assembled behing the railway station and plans for a mixed-use development, opening up access to the River Forth, are currently being finalised.  Forthside will double the size of the city centre by providing offices, a 150 bedroom 4 star Hotel, multi-screen cinema, conference centre and residential developments.  Linked to Forthside, proposals for a new gateway development into the traditional city centre from the Station forecourt, include proposals for a new library, tourist information centre, office, retail and residential surrounding a new city square.

Raploch Regeneration – Considered to be one of Scotland's larges urban regeneration schemes, the £200 million Raploch regeneration project will provide around 800 new homes with mixed tenure, new health facilities, riverside walkways, upgrading Back O' Hill Road, an expanded business park and industrial estate, a community school campus and retail.

Expansion of Castle Business Park – A mixed development at Kildean is currently being masterplanned to include further office and business space for existing and new companies.

Major Growth Area - To meet Stirling's current and future growth a major new expansion area is planned for East Stirling.  The approved structure plan highlights 2500 houses, community facilities and business space within a broad area to the East of the city.  A nuber of potential locations within this area are presently under consideration

The Sports Village - A sports village concept in the area of Forthbank Stadium is presently under consideration to complement earlier development of headquarters for the Scottish Institute of Sport, and the National Tennis and Swimming Centres based on the University Campus.
