Sporting Partnership in the Running for Community Leisure UK Award
Active Stirling and ClubSport Stirling have been shortlisted in the Strategic Partnership category for this year’s Community Leisure UK Awards, to be held in Manchester on Wednesday 22 May 2019.
Active Stirling's strategic partnership with ClubSport Stirling provides a commitment of finance, governance, sport development, coach development and facility access that ensures Stirling's sports clubs are strong and sustainable whilst contributing to Active Stirling's Business Plan outcomes.  The partnership ensures that Active Stirling's facilities are accessible to local clubs which in turn provides Stirling’s residents a fantastic offering of sport and physical activity for all ages and stages in the community.  The partnership has quality at the heart of it and its enthusiasm for continuous improvement ensures that both parties work collaboratively to meet their outcomes.
Dougie Porteous, Active Stirling's Sport, Physical Activity and Inclusion Manager and Secretary of ClubSport Stirling said: “It's fantastic that Stirling is being recognised for its commitment to the development of sports clubs in this shortlisting.  This recognition at a UK level is evidence of how good our work is.  In Stirling we've had a long standing focus on developing our clubs to be open for all and to develop participants to the level at which they want to participate.  At the heart of this work is the relationship between Active Stirling and ClubSport Stirling.  We're obviously hopeful of further recognition at the Awards in May but delighted we've made it to this stage.”
