SDS Central Parasport Festival 2019
The PEAK in Stirling is gearing up to play host to the ‘Central Parasport Festival 2019’ on Wednesday 23 October organised by Scottish Disability Sport.
The festival brings together pupils in mainstream schools that have a visual or hearing impairment or physical disability, for a Multi-Sport day. Kids from P1 to S6   from Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire Council local authority areas can come together to try new activities and learn about community pathways so they can progress in their chosen sport.
Activities on offer will be swimming, curling, climbing, boccia, football, athletics, basketball and cycling.
Scottish Disability Sport use the event to connect with children across Central Scotland with physical disabilities/sensory impairments and identify pupils with potential in particular sports and promote sporting pathways to these children.
Colin Naismith, Active Schools Manager with Active Stirling said, “We are delighted to support SDS with this event. Our Active Schools team continuously work with schools to break down barriers and make sport open and accessible to all. This event provides a great additional platform to promote sport to pupils with visual or hearing impairment or physical disability.”
