PickUp Basketball is an initiative from Basketball Scotland to provide fun and affordable pay as you play sessions for people to get active through basketball. The female only sessions were introduced to help limit the barriers that women may feel trying sport. The programme has been running at The PEAK for over 10 months, with over 40 women giving the session a go since it started.
John McDade, Ogilvie Homes Managing Director said, “We are delighted to sponsor the vests for the Female PickUp Basketball session in Stirling. This has been a great programme for female sport and empowering them to participate in a safe, comfortable and fun environment for basketball which we are pleased to support.”
Ruth Henderson, Active Stirling Community Activation Officer said “The participants are delighted that they can look the part when they attend our Female PickUp basketball sessions each week at The PEAK.”
Female PickUp Basketball at The PEAK will be on throughout the summer every Tuesday, starting Tuesday 9 July, 8.30pm-10.00pm. It's £3 per week or free for All IN members. The session will always welcome new participants so please come along! No need to pre book - just simply show up and play!
