Country Dancing Festival 2019
Active Stirling’s annual Country Dancing Festival returns for 2019 with a fantastic day of dance to be held at The PEAK in Stirling on Wednesday 27 November.
Organised by Active Stirling’s active schools team, the Scottish Country Dancing day will bring together over 120 pupils from 9 schools to showcase their talent for traditional dancing.
The schools from around Stirling prepare for the festival by running clubs within the school or practicing as part of P.E. lessons. Each school prepares one dance that they lead a demonstration in before all of the schools dance together.
Janet Johnson who is a highly experienced teacher will return as the caller, helping the day to run smoothly and lending a hand so that the dancers all get the steps as close to perfect as possible.
Live music from the two Iain’s will ensure the event has a fabulous and authentic feel that everyone enjoys.

Active Stirling’s Angela Hunter, Active Schools Co-ordinator said

“This event is so much fun, the atmosphere is fantastic and the live music really helps the day come to life. Janet is an absolute super star, patiently and enthusiastically helping us to get the steps right. I would like to thank Janet and the other club members who give up their time to share their passion for dance with us.”
