On Friday 22 March Active Stirling in partnership with Stirling Netball Club hosted the Active Schools Fun 5z Netball Festival at the Allan Centre in Bridge of Allan.
The event brought together over 100 children in P5-7 from eight local primary schools to play friendly netball games. The festival had a fantastic, positive atmosphere, with the kids having a great time playing netball and meeting teams from other local schools.
12 teams entered the festival from Borestone, Strathblane, Doune, Newton, Fintry, Riverside, Bridge of Allan and East Plean Primary Schools. Each school has their own after school netball activity which their teams take part in and this festival was the perfect opportunity for them all to display their skills.
Stirling Netball Club volunteers Ruth Martin, Laura Powell, Ruth Robinson, Molly Robinson, Emma Walker and Jenni Allardyce were match umpires on the day and helped everything run smoothly.
Paul O'Shea, Active Schools Coordinator said: "It was great to see so many P5-7 children play and enjoy netball at our Active Schools Fun 5z Netball Festival - everyone had a fantastic time with each team rewarded with a certificate. Thanks to Stirling Netball Club volunteers for their fantastic support towards this event. Well done to all the teachers, parents and volunteers from the school teams who came along to support their teams at the festival."
