Education and Training
In partnership with the Sports Development Team we provide CPD opportunities for teachers, school staff and senior pupils to develop their knowledge and understanding of a variety of sports and physical activities that will aid their delivery in the school environment.
Hard to Reach Groups
We will work with schools to identify 'hard to reach' groups in secondary schools and develop programmes to better engage them in sport and physical activity. 'Hard to reach' groups will include young people with a disability, young people from regeneration areas, girls and young women and young people that are not currently physically active. We develop programmes specifically for each group but use National models to do this including the Fit for Girls Programme, Living for Sport and Twilight Basketball.
Leadership
We run Sports Leadership training courses for senior secondary school pupils that develop their generic leadership skills. As part of these courses we pupils have to volunteer and we programme this through school, class and club activities in their community.
School Clubs
In partnership with the Sports Development Team we encourage schools to run School Sport and Physical Activity Clubs and Teams for pupils at lunchtimes and afterschool that are lead by teachers, senior pupils, community coaches and other school staff.
School Sport
In partnership with the Sports Development Team we provide opportunities for young people to take part in sports competitions and festivals including Stirling Schools Cross Country, Active Wednesdays, Central Rugby Festivals etc.
Sports Tasters
In partnership with the Sports Development Team and Local Clubs we offer children tasters in some sports aimed at getting them engaged in clubs or classes in their community on a longer term basis or for developing new teams within their school.
