STIRLINGSHIRE WALKING NETWORK
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR WALKERS!
The walking groups are expanding and 2010 brings some changes offering you more choice and new health walks in local communities.
From January 2010 there will be 3 health walking projects coming under the heading of the Stirlingshire Walking Network as outlined below:
Walk About Stirling
Walk your way to better health with Walk About Stirling. We have a variety of walks to suit different levels of fitness and medical conditions, for example you may have an ongoing medical problem or you may be recovering from an operation.
All health walks are led by trained walk leaders and the majority are FREE. To register for any of the walks please come along 10 minutes before the walk starts to complete brief health questionnaire and register. Please check the all walking information schedule to ensure you are joining the walk appropriate to your level of fitness. Monday walks is an ideal walk to start on and the co-ordinator is usually there to discuss any queries you may have with regards to the walking programme.
From 19th January Walk Forward will move onto a paying basis and pre-registration is required (Download the Walk Forward schedule below)
Walk in the Park
There are two walking groups run in conjunction with the National Park and the details of the Callander and Aberfoyle walks are listed separately below.

Steps-in-STIRLING is a local health walk initiative that is funded by Fairer Scotland. Fairer Scotland provides funding to support health work across areas of inequality and promotes good working relationships in order to provide better services.
Steps-in-STIRLING focus is to get more people active through gentle, easy walks within their own communities especially those who take little physical activity or live in areas of poor health. It is aimed at all ages, abilities and is free and accessible.
Steps-in-STIRLING has formed partnerships with Keep Well, Health and Well Being Alliance, COP, and Council Ranger Services.
Over the next two years Steps-in-STIRLING has been funded through Fairer Scotland to set up health walks in Cultenhove, Raploch, Cowie, Plean, and Fallin.
