Learn to Open Canoe Outdoors

Cost: £100. Duration: 2 days. Age: 16+.

Course Aim:

The aim of the course is to give you a good foundation in Canoeing.The course will be run in a relaxed and informal manner with the emphasis on developing confidence and learning new skills, rather than performance. By the end of the course you will have the knowledge and ability to progress further in the activity.

Course Content:

Core Strokes: Moving sideways, Turning, Forward and Backward Paddling, and Stopping.
The Anatomy of the canoe.
The principles of Trim.
Different types of paddles.
Clothing and equipment.
Weather & Land access.

Whats included?

Transport from the meeting point to the venue. Coaching. Equipment (Canoe Paddle, Wetsuit, Cagoul, PFD).
