Our activities also link with accredited community sports clubs in order to provide a pathway into community activities.  Examples of some of the work the Active Schools team deliver include;

Extra – Curricular Programmes
To develop opportunities before school, at lunchtime and after school for all primary schools across Stirling. Nearly all of our extra-curricular clubs are run by volunteers and we are always on the lookout for new volunteers in assist in our activities. If you would like to assist then please contact naismithc@activestirling.org.uk or contact your local Active School Co-ordinator, contact details can be found in the Active Schools clusters page.

School-Club Links
A main part of our work is to connect into the community and link with local community clubs accredited through Clubsport Stirling. We try to deliver strong community pathways in each community, providing activities in school that link into local community clubs.

Competitions and Festivals
Active Schools are working throughout the year to organise various sporting events across the local authority area.  These festivals bring a number of schools together to take part and compete in a range of different sports.  To give an idea of the opportunities available to all primary schools across Stirling then our 2016-17 calendar is below. On top of this, each cluster will have a calendar to highlight opportunities available to each cluster.  Link to primary calendar

School Taster Programmes
We also provide children with the opportunity to participate in a quality programme of sports tasters during the school day. Activities are linked to local programmes and lead into community or competitive activities.

School Sport Award
The sportscotland School Sport Award is a national, Lottery funded initiative designed to encourage schools to continuously improve physical education (PE) and school sport opportunities. Within Stirling, we have the target for all schools to achieve a minimum of a Silver award by June 2017.
