Active Schools in Primary Schools

Our Active Schools programme in Primary Schools delivers experiences for children to take part in physical activities whilst also encouraging participation in sport with a view to engaging children in local sports clubs in their community. This is delivered through a wide variety of programmes including:

Sports Tasters

We provide children with the opportunity to participate in a quality programme of sports coaching at school which will engage them in that sport, provide opportunities to compete in that sport and allow them to sustain their involvement at local community sports clubs.

School Sports Clubs

We encourage, develop and support School Sports clubs run by volunteers to provide opportunities for children to participate, train and compete in sport.

TOPs Clubs

TOPs Clubs are fun sport and physical activity clubs run by volunteers to provide opportunities for children to participate in a fun, non competitive environment.

If you would like to volunteer at an after school Tops club or sports club please contact ask us on

Cycle Training

Through Cycling Scotland’s Cycle Training programme http://www.cyclingscotland.org/our-projects/training-courses  we develop and support volunteers in schools to deliver cycle training to enable children to cycle safely.

Dance

We aim to provide children with opportunities to participate in dance delivered by teachers and volunteers leading to community participation as well as performances. For more information on our dance programmes contact our Dance Instructor Kim Bruce’s email: brucek@activestirling.org.uk
